 ian composer\, guitarist and producer based in Portland\, Oregon. Inspired
  by rhythmic and melodic angularity\, Daniel creates atonal architectures 
 and colorful lyricism. His music plays between deconstruction and improvis
 ation. He brings forward ancestral form from silence. \n\nA performance yo
 u don't want to miss! \n\nDaniel began his formal guitar training with Car
 los Castilla and studied at the Universidad de los Andes under Jaime Arias
  Obregón and Carlos Rocca Lynn. He has participated in masterclasses with 
 renowned artists like Leo Brouwer and Butch Morris\, and attended the Bang
  on a Can Summer Institute in 2010. Currently\, he studies music compositi
 on with Ion Marmarinos and Julien Malaussena.\n\nPerforming globally\, Dan
 iel co-led the 'Parias Ensemble' in NYC and served as a resident composer 
 at Teatro Escarlata in Medellín. His music has been featured in films and 
 dance\, and he has toured with The League of Crafty Guitarists. Based in P
 ortland\, Oregon\, Daniel is the guitarist for the experimental ensemble E
 x.tra.di.tion.\n\nThe program for the concert includes pieces from his lat
 est album 'Códices\,' which features études on Spanish guitar and improvis
 ations on the 12-string guitar. The repertoire also includes works by 20th
 -century Latin American composers such as Leo Brouwer and Abel Carlevaro.
 \n\nShowtime is 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception. Meet the musician and e
