Mexican Yarn Painting for Children (Workshop)
Sunday, 1-Day Workshop
April 26, 2026
1:00 - 2:30 PM
Suitable for Children 6 - 12 years old.
In anticipation of Mexico’s Cinco de Mayo, students will learn the art of Mexican (Huichol) Yarn Painting. Instead of the traditional beeswax spread on wood, we will use adhesive floor tiles as our adhesive surface for the yarn. Traditional Mexican symbols will be available to trace and use as inspiration for the projects. Handouts with a simple history and photographs of the artform will be provided.
More about the Instructors:
Since 2014, Village Arts has worked closely with NJ and PA school districts and community programs to provide quality art experiences for students of all ages and abilities. Students can feel free to imagine, create, explore cultures, and express themselves freely in a supportive class setting.
In-Person Workshop held at Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Road, Basking Ridge, NJ
