Painting with Paper: Intro Workshop with Laura Shabazz (In-Person)

Sunday, 1-Day Workshop
February 16, 2025
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Curious about collage? This two-hour workshop is your chance to explore the unique and surprisingly painterly world of paper collage. Using only upcycled magazines, participants will experiment with pattern, color, and texture - learning how to transform salvaged pages into striking works of art. Get a feel for the process, try your hand at key techniques, and discover just how limitless this medium can be. Whether you’re simply curious or thinking about joining the full six-week course, this workshop offers the perfect sneak peek.
No experience necessary.
In-Person Workshop held at Farmstead Arts Center, Basking Ridge, NJ
Materials List:
• Magazines*
• 11x14 Mixed Media Paper
• Glue Stick
• Pencil
*Start collecting as soon as you sign up! The more variety, the better. Look for magazines with plenty of images (fashion, home design, architecture) rather than heavy text. Ask friends, doctors’ offices, or your library.
