Farmstead Arts is seeking highly motivated, hard-working individuals interested in learning about arts management and gaining hands-on experience while assisting the staff during short and long term internships.
Internships are available in the following areas:
- Arts Administration
- Public Relations and Marketing
- Grant Writing/Fundraising
- Historical Research
- Theater Production
- Event Management
Details of Internships:
Interns work closely with the Director of Farmstead Arts and/or President of the Board on a variety of projects, including all aspects of funding, planning and producing a full season of concerts, theater, art shows, classes, workshops, and special events. Ideal candidates will have some background in the arts and some administrative or production experience, clear and concise writing and excellent interpersonal communication skills. This is a prime opportunity for candidates interested in learning the process of production and administration from within a growing vibrant community arts and historic preservation site. The historic research position will include delving into the past to aid Farmstead historians in compiling a complete chronicle of the Farmstead and it’s role in our community.
Positions are unpaid, but interns will receive free admission to performances and events and may enroll in classes at reduced rates at the Farmstead. It will be expected that interns will serve a minimum of one 3-hour shift on site per week in addition to time spent off-site in researching, writing, etc., as well as volunteering as needed at events or in other capacities. Internships run a minimum of 3 months with a maximum of 6 months, and are renewable if mutually agreed upon.
