More About Odarka:
Odarka is a professional harpist who learned the art of Pysanky from her mother, Maria Polanskyj, continuing a tradition passed down through generations. Growing up in Newarkâs Ukrainian immigrant community centered around St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Odarka is fluent in Ukrainian and also teaches traditional Ukrainian spring dances (Hahilky). She has shared her expertise in Pysanka-making at cultural institutions and museums throughout the region.
